GIC publishes the shape of the portfolio while withholding its size, so every figure below is a percentage of an unknown base. That makes the mix real information about strategy and nothing at all about scale. In FY2025/26 the reported equity share rose five points in a single year, the largest shift in the recent record.

What a percentage without a base can say
It can say direction: more equities, fewer bonds, an American centre of gravity. It cannot say a single dollar. Fifty-six per cent of an undisclosed number is an undisclosed number. Anyone quoting “GIC's US$X billion in equities” has multiplied an official percentage by an unofficial guess — and the result inherits the guess's reliability while borrowing the percentage's authority.
