Why hand the reader the tools

This chart makes claims a reader cannot easily check: that 104 of 141 companies left through the front door, that Temasek's book behaves like 25.0 equal positions, that the next twenty-year return is confined to a band. Each is arithmetic on published data — which means each can be rerun, and a site that publishes falsifiable arithmetic should make rerunning it trivial rather than merely possible.

The stronger reason is what a failure here would mean. If the recomputation disagrees with the published figure, the site is wrong and says so in the reader's own browser, using the reader's own copy of the data. That is a harder guarantee than any audit run by the same hands that wrote the code — and it is checked automatically too, in the Tide Log's spirit, by the gate that runs before anything ships.
